With the new semester, I know I am going to have to write a few things…one one class alone, I have to turn a paper in almost every week. The good folks over at lifehack.org written a great read on how to start writing called Six Ways to Start the Writing Process.

They start with something I wish I did when I had been told when I was in high school or college the first time:

First, decide what you actually want to write. Getting down the bare minimums for your piece will help you construct a bare draft for whatever it is you’re planning to end with.
